In early 2009, Buck Blanchard (Diocese of Virginia) and Phil Darrow (St. Michael’s of Barrington, IL) embarked on an adventure through Southern Sudan. They began in Juba at the headquarters of the Episcopal Church of the Sudan (ECS). With 4+ million adherents and a broad “field network,” the ECS is the largest non-governmental organization (NGO) in Southern Sudan.
