In 2004, Bishop Daniel reached out to friends at the Duke Divinity School (DDS) and Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) to enlist their support as visiting teachers. Initial courses focused on the biblical languages to equip priests to read and interpret scripture using the original text. Other short courses followed. In summer 2009, Dr. Jo Bailey Wells of DDS taught Anglicanism.
