In 2007 and 2008, The Rev. Alan Storey, Senior Pastor of Calvary Methodist Church in Gauteng Province, South Africa, taught short courses on the Biblical narrative using Daniel Erlander’s illustrated book, Manna and Mercy. Rev. Storey noted: "The students' deep hunger to learn is profoundly evident... There was a real interest in South Africa's transitional history, and the students constantly drew comparisons with their own history."
