The cornerstone of Renk is the Cathedral of St. Matthew, consecrated by the Archbishop of Canterbury on Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Generous donors from the Diocese of Virginia and Diocese of Chicago supplied the majority of the construction costs. Local clergy, teachers, and staff supported the effort by sacrificing portions of their salaries. Families found the means to donate chairs.
